- Hobbies to make you money.
This is the hobby I love to talk about and is all about finding hobbies that will make passive revenue streams, so you work because you want to rather than you have to. Passive in that you are not doing anything to earn the money, such as receiving rent from investment properties, dividends from shares, or your own pension from your superannuation. In other words, making money while you sleep.
- Hobbies to be creative.
Being creative is not only fun and rewarding, but also beneficial for your mental health. It can help you to relax and relieve stress, as well as boost your self-esteem. Taking up a creative hobby such as painting or drawing can help you to express yourself in a way that words cannot. It can be a great outlet for your emotions and thoughts, and it can also give you a sense of accomplishment when you finish something.
- Hobbies to keep you in shape.
Staying in shape is one of the best things you can do for your health, happiness, and overall well-being. Not only does physical activity help you maintain a healthy weight, but it also helps to reduce the risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. For me it was always playing soccer with my mates right up in to my 50s and kept you fit without even trying. Finally regular exercise can just improve your mood and help you manage stress better, something we can all use in our daily lives.
- Hobbies for knowledge.
I was always told by my coaches and mentors that ‘knowledge is power’ and it can be the key to unlock your full potential. It is the most valuable asset we can have and it’s a lifelong journey as we should never stop learning or wanting to learn. I always loved reading and even still prefer to read books than anything else. With knowledge you can gain a better understanding of the world around you, develop new skills, and make more informed decisions. To me Google is information but only through experience and education, does it become knowledge.
- Hobbies to evolve your mindset.
Dr Tim Sharp calls it the “Tyranny of When” – I will be happy and positive ‘when’ I get a new job, a pay rise, a trip overseas, and so we are always frustrated with the now. Whereas we need to flip that on its head and be happy and positive now, and then that funny enough will give you best possible chance to your next job, next pay rise or whatever goal you are aiming for.
I believe that having a positive mindset is just essential for leading a happy and successful life. It helps you stay focused on the good things in life, instead of worrying about the negative. It can also promote mental health by reducing stress and anxiety. I personally find meditation an effective way to help with a positive attitude towards life. It helps you gain clarity, focus on the present, and develop an appreciation for what you have in your life.
So these are the 5 Hobbies, and I believe if we tried to include these hobbies in our lives, we would be in a better position and have a more positive outlook on life. But don’t worry, you don’t have to find them all at once, just aim to implement one at a time.
Is there any other types of hobbies you feel are missing?
