We are The Money Sandwich, a family-owned organisation with a mission that matters. Founded by Marc Bineham, a retired financial adviser, and his daughter Katherine, we’re here to provide essential financial education to Australians, particularly those in the Sandwich Generation—individuals simultaneously supporting ageing parents and raising their own children. With longer lifespans and growing financial pressures, achieving financial independence can be daunting and will continue to affect future generations.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower all Australians with the knowledge and tools so they can lead a fulfilling life, free from financial stress. To achieve our mission, we offer a range of comprehensive, affordable products and services. All designed to educate and empower Australians at every stage of their financial journey.
Meet The Team
Hi I’m Marc Bineham
My goal has always been to help Australians to live your very best life through positive mindset, promoting well-being and simply achieving financial freedom that much sooner, we all deserve that, don’t we?
In 2019, a turning point occurred in my life when I underwent open-heart surgery. Prompting a re-evaluation of my 30-year career in financial advisory, including four years as the national president of the AFA (Association of Financial Advisers). While I always loved helping my own clients reach their goals and aspirations, I realised most people just couldn’t afford help or advice, and that had to change.
That’s when I decided to pour all the knowledge I gained over my career into a book, which I proudly titled The Money Sandwich. My goal was to provide readers like you with the knowledge and confidence to make positive changes in your financial situation. Think of it as your complete guide to all things money and finances without the huge price tag.
After I saw how the book resonated with people of all ages, I joined forces with my daughter, Katherine, and together we established a business that allows us to help even more organisations and individuals with their finances. Through speaking, seminars, workshops, and personalised coaching, we’re dedicated to empowering people just like you to take control of their financial well-being. Today, I wear multiple hats with pride—I’m a keynote speaker, coach, award-winning author, podcaster, and educator.
Now, let’s talk about my life outside of work. My wife and I absolutely love traveling, especially exploring the beautiful country of Italy. Although I have to admit, I’m not the best at picking up the language, but I still enjoy every moment. When I’m not busy, you can find me kicking a soccer ball around on the field or teeing off on a golf course whenever I get the chance. Additionally, I cherish spending quality time with my two wonderful daughters.
Here’s a fun fact about me: before embarking on my career in finance, I used to teach Latin and ballroom dance. Quite the change, isn’t it?
I’m excited to connect with you and share my expertise to help you achieve your financial goals. Feel free to reach out, and let’s embark on this journey together.
Hi I’m Katherine Bineham
I co-founded The Money Sandwich with my dad, Marc Bineham, back in 2021. It all began as a bit of a side project. I was in between jobs, and my dad wanted to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with as many people as possible. That’s when the idea for his award-winning book, The Money Sandwich, was born. And I was happy to lend a helping hand in bringing it all together.
Now, I’m not a financial adviser or money coach. My background is in marketing and sales. But in 2019, I decided to take a leap and leave the media industry to travel the world. However, as fate would have it, the global pandemic had other plans for my travel dreams. So, I shifted gears and began doing contract work, assisting small businesses with their marketing and branding needs. It was during this time that I joined forces with my dad to bring his book to life.
Once the book hit the shelves, we realised we could do so much more. So we decided to team up and create a business inspired by the book’s principles.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and friends. Traveling has also always been a passion of mine and I try to travel any chance I get, both overseas and around Australia. One thing that is on my bucket list is renting a van and complete a cross-country adventure around Australia.
